Simple Soccer Stats: FAQ

Below is a list of FAQ. Feedback always helps so if you have any questions please ask me on mail@simplesoccerstats.com. If you come across a problem it helps to tell me.

  1. On some sheets there is no data for corners and shots?
  2. Why won't the console load?
  3. Why won't the console appear?
  4. Why is there no ref data for this week's fixtures?
  5. Why does the data have to load in the console?

Why does the console take so long to load?
All the data is stored in separate files, so the time it takes is for flash to build the application with all the charts etc, and then to take in all the data so it is ready to be used. The time it takes at the beginning means it never needs to pull data again and so changing between matches and/or leagues is instant.

On some sheets there is no data for corners and shots?
For some leagues it is just not available. At present the English Leagues have all the data.

Why won't the console load?
You probably don't have flash installed. To check which version of flash you are running there is a nice page from macromedia here which will tell you. To install the latest version of flash click here. If you have questions about using Flash or installation please contact me.

Why won't the console appear?
There is probably some sort of pop up blocker stopping it. If you are aware of pop up software being installed in your browser, try turning it off. Internet explorer itself, as well as yahoo and google toolbars often contain pop up blockers. Please e-mail me if you still have this problem as it helps me to know for the future.

Why is there no ref data for this weeks fixtures?
There is only ref data for the Premier League, Championship and Scottish Premier at the moment. Referee data is like gold dust and the premier league only release it a few days before the games. Soon there will be a list of exactly when it is released.

Will does the data have to load in the console?
Without being too technical all the data is stored in XML sheets. The application has to take all this data in and store it in its memory before it can be used. This is all done on your machine. If you load the data from europe in one of the consoles e.g main and then open the another the euro data is already loaded from the first time so won't need to load again.
