Corner Bets 21.02.2014

Going early with these as one game is tonight

Hamburg v Borussia Dortmund

Race to 5 corners – Hamburg @ 4.0 (1pt)
The price on this was 4.33 on Thursday night but it’s still too high and looks to be priced closer to the match odds than corner probablility. Dortmund are not great at corners away and in terms of the race to 5 have won 4, lost 4 and drawn 2. Hamburg at home have a W6, D2 and L2 record but it’s the fact Dortmund are not stronger than makes this worth a bet. Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen who are above them in the table have lost race to 5 just twice each. The past results have this as an evens chance so 4.0 looks very generous.

Double 1.61 and 1.9 = 3.08 (1pt)
Schalke v Mainz: Race to 7 corners – Neither @ 1.61 (TONIGHT)
In Schalke home games Race to 7 has been won just 2/10 and for Mainz it is 3/10. Combine the two and it’s just 5/20 matches which should be 1.33 but 1.61 is available. Schalke themselves have made it to 7 just once at home and for Mainz it’s the same with them getting to 7 just once.

Lazio v Sassuolo: Race to 7 corners – Neither @ 1.9
Similar story here as this has been a draw in 8/11 Lazio home games and 7/12 Sassuolo away games. Combining them we get 15/23 which is equivalent to odds around 1.53. Again both team has passed 7 corners themselves just once in their matches.

Corner Bets 14.02.2014

Augsburg v Nurnberg
Race to 7 corners – Neither @ 1.8 (1pt)
Augsburg have played 9 home games and in just 2 have they or their opponents got to 7 corners. For Nurnberg away it is a similar story with just 3 of the 10 matches seeing 7 or more corners for either team. Put them together and that’s just 14/19 matches when race to 7 has ended up as neither. That is equivalent to odds of around 1.38 so 1.8 looks decent.

Malaga v Real Sociedad
Race to 5 corners – Malaga @ 2.0 (1pt)
Malaga have won this in 7/11 home matches and Sociedad have lost it in 8/12 away. Sociedad have had decent corner counts against the better teams. They have played non top 5 teams in 8 of their away games and only got more than 5 corners in 2 of these. Malaga are awful but hopefully they can win the race to 5 if not the match

Corner Bets 08.02.2014 RESULTS

1 winner and 2 losers

Rayo Vallecano v Malaga: Race to 7 Corners – Rayo @ 1.83 (2 points) Lost -2

Sampdoria v Cagliari: Race to 7 Corners – Neither @ 1.72 (1 point) Won +0.72

Norwich v Man City: Asian Handicap Corners – Norwich +3 @ 1.95 (1 point) Lost -1

6 bets – 3 winners -1.52

The Rayo bet was sunk with them getting 2 goals around the half hour mark. Looking at it now it was probably not the best bet as Malaga are awful and I should have considered they might go behind. I still have no idea how they managed to beat Sevilla the week before but they could easily go down.

Norwich won the race to 3 corners (was priced at 3.25) and they were level at 3 each at half time. As City pushed for a goal they just hammered the corner count but I would take that bet again tomorrow as you would expect City not to come unstuck like that again.

Nothing looks strong enough in the Prem this midweek so will look again at the weekend.
